ICT as a Communicative Tool

It is necessary for communication to take place in order for teaching and learning to take place, rather than struggle to find a means of communication, ICT can be used as a communicative tool for better communication. I have been able to understand that a communicative tool refers to any application, software, or technology that facilitates effective communication between teachers and students, or among peers.

ICT as a communicative tool should be utilized as it provides a wide range of benefits, it helps enhance interaction between two parties as communication requires input from noth parties. It has also helped me learn that the main essence of using as a communicative tool is to enhance collaboration learning as students and teachers thrive to work together and interact with one another, It can also be utilized to share information, ideas and also additional information with peers, friends and teachers, To add on, communicative tool facilitiates immediate feeback which allows students to improve and strive for better outcomes. You can use ICT tools such as social media, Learning Management Systems or even Email to communicate with peers, friends and teachers.

Commuicative tools are also unique in the sense that communication can take place in two types: Synchronous Communication where it requires both parties to be active at the same time or face to face communication and Asynchronous Communication where it does not require both parties to be active at the same time and does not need to be a face to face communication , the learners can take their own time and reply at their own pace and also grasp information at their desired or capable pace. Communicative tools also share a few disadvantages which include network issues which hinders the communication, Loss of interest if the technological issues persist, and also the learners may be distracted when using the internet and pay less attention to the lessons.

Google Classroom is a free blended learning platform developed by Google for educational institutions that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments. Google classroom is a communicative tool as it is used to share the assignments and work to students. It also contains comment sections where feedback can be provided, communication can take between peers, students and teachers, in the Google classroom as they can share their thoughts ideas, and information.
