ICT as a Constructive Tool

With the transition to modern methods of teaching and learning from the traditional, construction of knowledge is an indispensable step. ICT can also be used as constructive tools which can help students construct their own knowledge and also add on to the prior knowledge they already carry. A constructive tool is any digital or technological tool that helps students actively construct knowledge by using digital tools with students' prior knowledge that enables the active construction of new knowledge,

Constructive tools have enabled me to understand that they should be integrated into teaching and learning as students use technology to create, organize, and connect ideas, which helps them to understand and remember the content better which enables students to engage actively. It also contributes to enhanced creativity and engagement as students can use different ICT constructive tools to design presentations, videos, blogs, which makes learning more engaging and enjoyable. Futhermore, it also supports personalized learning as the constructive tools allow students to work at their own pace, explore their own ideas, and connect new information to their prior knowledge and experiences by representing it through various formats like concept maps, powerpoint presntations and Learning Management Systems like VLE. Constructive tools also aid in equipping the students with 21^st century digital skills as students need to engage and participate actively while using the different constructive tools. It has also led me to realize that constructive tools can help in enhancing creitical thinking as students must engage with information actively, analyze, evaluate, and apply knowledge appropriately. Learners must get help from the teachers when they construct their own knowledge so that they become independent learners in the later part.

An example is Microsoft Word  as it has a strong impact on the educational environment. For instance, in learning a second language (english in this case), Microsoft Word manages to help students to make correct sentences and texts.
